Tahoma: Environmental Mountaineering Documentary
One of North America’s iconic ranges, the Cascades are home to beautiful vistas, towering peaks, and seemingly endless wilderness. Unfortunately, they are also home some of the most rapidly receding glaciers in the world. As a result of warmer temperatures and less snowfall, since the 1980s Cascade glaciers have lost mass at alarming rates. If current conditions continue, two thirds of the glaciers in the Cascades will disappear completely. In the summer of 2015, five friends attempted to climb 12 Cascade Volcanoes in one month, aiming to experience and raise awareness for the rapidly shrinking glaciers on their slopes. They created this film along the way.
